I am really pleased to have played a part in the 'Poppies-Wave 2017 Tour' when the iconic poppies art installation came to Southend on Sea. Essex, UK. from 12 April until 25 June.

As the official photographer for this historic event I hope that my images will live on to remind people in the future when they ask "What was it like?". There was a huge team involved from the Organising Team at Southend Borough Council to the specialist trades and the host of volunteers who gave their time to ensure that this important historical event passed off smoothly.

Culture Secretary Karen Bradley today announced the final venues chosen to host the iconic poppy sculptures Wave and Weeping Window, by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper.

In 2018, Wave will be installed at Fort Nelson, Fareham and IWM North, Manchester. Weeping Window will be going to Hereford Cathedral, Carlisle Castle, Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent and IWM London.

Over 3.3 million people have visited the poppies since the start of the tour in 2015.

After the tour concludes, the two sculptures will move into the long-term ownership of the Imperial War Museum, becoming part of the permanent collection.
